Introduction

Born in Scunthorpe in 1951, my father served in the RAF and we travelled around Great Britain and Germany, finally settling in Lincolnshire in 1967. I married Peter in 1971 and we have two grown up children - Paul and Lucy Anne.

Having always been interested in Art and Craftwork, I decided to enrol for a china painting course at adult education in 1987. I soon became addicted and two years later, bought my first kiln. Two years after that we had a studio built in the garden.

Today I teach and demonstrate around Great Britain and Holland, take on commission work and run weekend courses in my studio. I have won a silver ribbon and bronze ribbon at world conventions in America and I have had three of my media pictures transferred into cross stitch kits by the largest stitching company in the world – DMC. They have also commissioned other designs for future kits. The mixed media pictures are unique to me. They combine the two arts I enjoy the most – porcelain painting and embroidery / collage work.
